The Awards night is a celebration of the talent, celebrity and power of Asian cinema on the international film scene, with red carpet event and the Awards show itself.

This year, there are 74 nominees of 42 films from eight countries competing for the final Asian Film Awards in 14 categories: Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Newcomer, Best Screenwriter, Best Cinematographer, Best Editor, Best Composer, Best Production Designer, Best Visual Effects and Best Costume Designer. The competition is fierce this year including a lot of high-caliber films that have already won or been nominated at major international film festivals and awards shows, including The Golden Era, Blind Massage, Roaring Currents, Coming Home and Black Coal, Thin Ice.
Renowned award-winning Hong Kong film director Mabel CHEUNG is the AFA Jury President of this year, heading a panel of 13 jurors composed of two-year Taipei Golden Horse Best Actor winner Celebrity Juror Aaron KWOK, esteemed film industry professionals, scholars and critics to select the most outstanding Asian works of the year for one of the most prestigious film awards in the world.
The jury panel has already chosen the final winners from the list of the best Asian films. The results will be announced at the Ceremony at the Venetian Theatre. AFA Best Newcomer nominee Ivana WONG as well as the talented and popular Korean violinist Sue SON will perform film music classics for the audience. Red-hot Korean pop group INFINITE will also perform at the show.
The AFA will also present the Lifetime Achievement Award to the venerable “Godfather of Korean Cinema” IM Kwon-taek, honoring his tireless years of distinguished contribution to Asian cinema. Japan Academy Prize Best Actress NAKATANI Miki will be given the Excellence in Asian Cinema Award, recognizing her illustrious achievements in Asian cinema.

The Asian Film Awards Academy members come from all over Asia. They are drawn from all past nominees and winners at the Asian Film Awards. Additional members who are prominent in their field may also be inducted into the Asian Film Awards Academy. Members will be given voting rights for the Asian Film Awards and also participate in various Academy activities around the region.
The Asian Film Awards Academy expresses the increasing global importance and creative strength of the cinemas of Asia and will help unite the industries and talents of this fast-growing region.

COTAI WATER JET
Launched in November 2007, Cotai Water Jet is the premium high-speed ferry service between Hong Kong and Macao. As of January 2015, the maritime jet fleet has serviced more than 44 million passengers, and averages approximately 42 daily round trip sailings.
