Presenters and Performers Announced for the 18th Asian Film Awards Ceremony

Renowned filmmakers, international stars, and exclusive performances to highlight Asia's prestigious film awards

The 18th Asian Film Awards ceremony will be held on March 16, 2025 (Sunday) at the Xiqu Centre Grand Theatre in the West Kowloon Cultural District. The red carpet and award ceremony will be livestreamed on the Asian Film Awards Academy YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/AsianFilmAwardsAcademy) at 5 PM HKT, with exclusive broadcasting by TVB Plus (Channel 82).

 

The Asian Film Awards Academy has unveiled an exciting lineup of guest presenters for this year’s ceremony. Leading the list is this year’s Jury President, Sammo HUNG, a renowned Hong Kong director and action choreographer, as well as a past recipient of the Asian Film Awards Lifetime Achievement Award. He is joined by Cannes Best Actor Award winner YAKUSHO Koji, Venice Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Ann HUI, and Hong Kong Film Awards Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, veteran director NG See Yuen. Also presenting awards are Hong Kong Film Awards Best Director Award winner Stanley KWAN, along with acclaimed filmmakers Sunny CHAN, MATSUNAGA Daishi, Nick CHEUK, and Lawrence KAN, all gathering to celebrate the best of Asian cinema.

 

The ceremony will also welcome a distinguished lineup of international guests, including Japanese rising star KAWAI Yuumi, Japan Academy Film Prize-winning actor IKEMATSU Sosuke, Malaysian actors LIN Min Chen and Jack TAN, and Thailand’s popular actor Win Metawin, who previously received the Asian Film Awards Rising Star Award. Joining them are mainland actor Yosh YU and Taiwanese talents Cheryl YANG, Jasper LIU, and Alice KO. Their presence highlights the rich diversity and global influence of Asian cinema.

 

Representing Hong Kong are Golden Horse Best Actress Award winner CHUNG Suet Ying, Asian Film Awards Best Supporting Actress Award recipient Rachel LEUNG, nominee of the AFA18 best supporting actor Philip NG, veteran actor Kenny WONG, and multitalented artists Louis CHEUNG and Kay TSE. Rising star MC CHEUNG Tin Fu, who has made waves in both music and film, will also take the stage as a presenter, contributing to an unforgettable night celebrating the best of Asian cinema.

Musical talent Wan Pin CHU All-round performer Jonathan WONG

 

The Asian Film Awards will open with a spectacular musical performance, celebrating the power of film music. Renowned composer Wan Pin CHU, best known for his original score in the record-breaking animated film Ne Zha 2, will join forces with versatile artist Jonathan WONG for a dynamic opening act, showcasing the boundless creativity of Asian cinema. Adding to the excitement, acclaimed Japanese musician FUJIWARA Ikuro and singer TOMODA Sho will also take the stage with captivating performances, further elevating the energy of the event.

 

A series of exclusive pre-ceremony events will commence on March 14, building anticipation for the Asian Film Awards ceremony! Highlights include a masterclass by internationally renowned film sound expert TU Duu-Chih, In Conversation with AFA18 nominees, and the Asian Cinerama – 18th Asian Film Awards Selection, presented in collaboration with Broadway Cinematheque. The overwhelming response from film enthusiasts led to sessions selling out quickly, reflecting the immense excitement and support for Asian cinema.

 

On March 15, a warm-up event at apm void will feature this year’s Asian Film Awards Ambassador Dean FUJIOKA, alongside Youth Ambassadors Aokbab Chutimon, Austin LIN, OKADA Masaki, and LO Chun Yip. Additionally, last year’s Asian Rising Star Award winner, Thailand’s celebrated actor WIN Metawin, will connect with fans and amp up the excitement for the ceremony.
