In addition to the awards ceremony, the Academy will host exclusive events, offering fans a chance to meet their favourite stars and discover the artistry behind the films.

A Palette of Cinematic Delights — Asian Cinerama

The Asian Film Cinerama will present a selection of nominated films and special screenings, with filmmakers and actors participating in post-screening Q&As to share their creative journeys. Last year, screenings were a full house, with prominent filmmakers including Japanese master KORE-EDA Hirokazu, Sri Lankan director Prasanna VITHANAGE, and China’s award-winning actress JIANG Qinqin discussing their filmmaking experiences. This year, top international filmmakers will return, giving audiences the chance to enjoy the best of Asian cinema on the big screen.

Inspiration from the Legend — Masterclass

Film enthusiasts can attend masterclasses hosted by the biggest names in Asian cinema, diving into the art and philosophy of filmmaking. Last year, the masterclass featured an engaging dialogue between legendary Japanese director KUROSAWA Kiyoshi and renowned Hong Kong director Fruit Chan. Their unique creative visions and narrative styles inspired the audience. The masterclass this year continues with more legendary filmmakers, offering invaluable insights for both film lovers and industry professionals.

Journey beyond the Spotlight — In Conversation

The “In Conversation” series brings together outstanding nominees from the Asian Film Awards to explore various aspects of filmmaking, from aesthetics to character development, sparking creativity. This year’s lineup is thrilling, with top filmmakers engaging with the audience in person.

The nominees for Best Supporting Actor at the 18th Asian Film Awards, including Tommy CHU from the Last Dance, Philip NG from Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In, and LEE Kang-Sheng from Stranger Eyes, will share their approaches to interpreting different roles. Emerging directors TRUONG Minh Quý from Viet and Nam and SORA Neo from Happyend, both nominated for Best New Director, will discuss how they have developed their unique styles and how they are redefining cinematic storytelling and visual language for the new generation. More exciting conversations are coming, with nominees for Best Original Music joining the discussions to share their creative journeys with passionate film enthusiasts.
