From an Internet Sensation to an Actress: A Conversation with AFA Youth Ambassador Lin Minchen

The Asian Film Awards Academy and HKBU Academy of Film are honoured to invite Producer/Screenwriter Mani MAN, Director/Screenwriter Sunny CHAN, and AFA Youth Ambassador LIN Min Chen to participate in a seminar. With her experiences in career development across regions, Min Chen will share how she managed to advance from an internet sensation to an emerging actress.

 

Mani’s production includes Vampire Cleanup Department, One Second Champion, Drifting, The Narrow Road, and others. Vampire Cleanup Department was awarded the HAF WIP Award in 2016. The Narrow Road was recently nominated and awarded in 39th Golden Horse Awards and the 29th Hong Kong Film Critics Society Award. In 2021, Min Chen and Mani collaborated on the film One Second Champion which received four nominations for the 40th Hong Kong Film Awards.

 

Sunny’s screenplay works include Diva… Ah Hey, Monster Hunt 2, Men On The Dragon, and others. Men On The Dragon, Sunny’s first self-directed and self-scripted film, received eleven nominations for the 38th Hong Kong Film Awards in 2019. Sunny was also nominated for “Best Director,” “Best Screenplay,” and “Best New Director.” Last year, Min Chen and Sunny collaborated in the film “Table For Six”, which made box office history, becoming the highest-grossing Chinese comedy in Hong Kong.
