In the 16th Asian Film Awards Press Conference, we are honoured to have invited Director Mabel CHEUNG, Actress Chrissie CHAU, Youth Ambassador LIN Min Chen, Actress Angela YUEN and Actor LING Man-lung to announce this year’s nomination list. Announcing our nominees aside, our guests also joined us in shooting various upcoming promotional videos.

Asian Film Awards Academy 

 

The AFAA is formed by three (3) established Asian Film Festivals – Busan, Hong Kong and Tokyo in 2013. It highlights, strengthens, and develops Asian film industry and culture through the annual Asian Film Awards, and several year-round initiatives for building regional and international audiences such as the Masterclass Series, Film Craft Workshops, Asian Cinerama, Journey to the Fest, Young Film Professionals Training Program, and Hong Kong Film Gala Presentation.

Chrissie CHAU Sau Na

 

Debuted in 2006, Chrissie CHAU Sau Na is a Hong Kong actress who has starred in over 50 films. In 2013, she first won the Best Actress Award at The Los Angeles Movie Award with her role as Shi Qin in Paper Moon (2013), and later won the Best Actress Award at Busan Asian New Media Film Festival in 2016. In 2018, she gained huge recognition from the industry with her role as Christy Lan in 29+1, being nominated at the 37th Hong Kong Film Awards for the Best Actress Award. In 2022, her film Madalena (2021) was nominated in the Italy Udine Far East Film Festival as the competition section, and she was nominated as the Best Actress again at the Hong Kong Film Awards with this film.

LIN Min Chen

 

LIN Min Chen is a Malaysian actress and singer. In 2015, she launched her music career in Taiwan with her first music EP My Happy Adventure, and gained great popularity in Taiwan. In 2016, she started appearing in various Hong Kong TV commercials. Her feature film debut came in 2017 with Hong Kong comedy horror film Vampire Cleanup Department (2017). In recent years, she has focused her career in Hong Kong and subsequently appeared in two award-winning Hong Kong films, One Second Champion (2020) and Table for Six (2022), which she has achieved wider recognition as an actress. The film Table for Six (2022) was a commercial success, becoming the second highest-grossing release of the year in Hong Kong, and has been shortlisted for several international film festivals and screened around the world. She received many love by audience of all ages with her outstanding performance in movies. In addition, she was praised by her energetic image and her personality in real life.

This project aims to rediscover and showcase the captivating charm of Hong Kong cinema, and position Hong Kong as an iconic travel destination for film lovers.
Participants: Join The Programme Made Me Eye-opening Both Hong Kong participants stated that by attending the "Young Film Professionals Programme" in Thailand, they were able to gain an in-depth understanding of the various post-production steps, which has also helped them set clearer goals for their future career development.
