The Asian Film Awards Academy (AFA Academy)’s Young Film Professionals Overseas Training Program (YFPOTP), continues its objective to nurture young film talents in Hong Kong by providing overseas training opportunities.
With the support of Create Hong Kong and the Film Development Fund of the Hong Kong SAR Government, there are two funded three-month work placements at White Light Post’s Film Editing and Color Grading Departments respectively in Bangkok, Thailand.
The candidate get used to using DaVinci Resolve 16 for colour grading. They have seen how the professional grade a movie. The technician from White Light Post also showed the candidate which part or area should look at and made the right judgment before actually grading.
The candidate have also learnt to use the external controller for DaVinci Resolve, they can get a chance to use such an advanced equipment for colour grading.
The most valuable element in this programme is the opportunity to get to know how the professional work in this industry, e.g the workflow of post-production. Another element is the access to high-end equipment and professional set-up in an editing room and colour grading room. It’s also clearer for the candidate to know the whole process of post-production between different departments from conforming, editing and colour grading.
