To promote Asian cinema and expand its audience worldwide, the Asian Film Awards Academy (AFA Academy) presented a film roadshow programme titled Asian Cinerama at the 3rd QCinema International Film Festival(QCIFF), a flagship film programme of the Philippines’ most populated city Quezon City (22 to 31 October, 2015). QCIFF’s film programme was diverse and open, including local and international commercial and independent films, as well as Oscars contenders. It included a wide diversity of genres such as drama, horror, documentary, animation, etc. It encouraged emerging and veteran filmmakers through prizes and grants with the Circle Competition, DoQC International Documentary Competition, and the Pylon Awards.

 

The QCinema International Film Festival is an annual film festival held in Quezon City, Philippines. The festival showcases local and international films, documentaries, and short films, and gives grants to their creators.The QCinema International Film Festival was created in 2013 by the Quezon City Film Development Foundation (QCFDC), a Quezon City governmental commission that supported the city’s filmmakers.

 

In 2015 the festival was held from October 22 to 31, with 10,000 people attending. The QCIFF featured 33 films with 200 screenings, with 8 receiving grants.

Hong Kong Eight outstanding nominated films of the 16th Asian Film Awards were screened in Hong Kong. The theatre was full for many sessions, and the atmosphere was hot!
Kuala Lumpur 7 Hong Kong films were premiered in Malaysia. Including the Asian premiere of director Keian Chui’s REMEMBER WHAT I FORGOT.
Jakarta Six Hong Kong films were shown in Indonesia. Showcase the rich and vibrant creativity of contemporary movies produced out of Hong Kong.
Hong Kong Both opening and closing films of Asian Cinerama, Hokusai and Waiting for My Cup of Tea, made their Hong Kong premiere at the programme.
Warsaw The best film of the 15th Asian Film Awards "Wife of a Spy" had its grand premiere in Warsaw, and director Kiyoshi Kurosawa also participated in the online sharing session.
Toronto For the first time, Asian Cinerama was held in Toronto, allowing local audiences to watch different styles of Asian films.
Hawaii Over thousand audiences watched different Asian films through Asian Cinerama in Hawaii.
